Krishna Chatti is celebrated on Shashti Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. As per Hindu Scriptures, Chatti is celebrated six days after the birth of a child. On this auspicious day people worship Goddess Shashti for the well being and good health of the child. Goddess Shashti is the presiding deity of a child. It is believed that the dead son of King Privavrata was revived by Shashti Devi. Since then this day is dedicated to Shashti Goddess and celebrated with happiness and joy.

Devotees wake up early in the morning, take a bath and clean their house and puja room. People decorate their house with diyas, balloons and flowers and special food is prepared on this propitious day to offer Lord Krishna. All friends and relatives are invited at home.
